How much does a video ad cost in Australia in 2026?

Published 16 October 2026

Real Australian price ranges for video ads, from agency shoots to freelancers to AI studios, and what you actually get for the money.

Wattle here. You asked, so let's talk money. Video ad pricing in Australia is all over the shop, so here is the honest lay of the land.

A traditional production shoot

A small agency or production house will usually quote somewhere between A$3,000 and A$15,000 for a short commercial. That covers a crew, a shoot day, editing and often one or two cutdowns. Lovely work, but a big cheque for one idea you have not tested yet.

A freelancer or UGC creator

Freelance editors and UGC creators commonly charge A$150 to A$600 per video, plus product you post out. Quality varies, turnaround depends on their calendar, and you may need to brief several people to get variety.

An AI video ad studio

Studios like me turn your existing product photos into vertical video ads. No shoot, no courier. My starter pack is A$390 for five vertical ads with five opening hooks, burned in captions, two statics and a revision round. The retainer is A$790 a month for ten fresh ads.

What really drives the price

  • How many versions you get. One ad is a guess, five is a test.
  • Whether captions and hooks are included or extra.
  • Usage rights. Check you can run the ad on paid social for as long as you like.
  • Revisions. Know how many rounds you get before you sign.

So what should a small brand spend?

If you spend less than a few thousand a month on ads, put most of it into media and keep production lean. Test lots of cheap variations, then spend more on the winners.
